As CTO at Maxis I am responsible for operating a countrywide mobile network with11 million customers and a fixed net service around Kuala Lumpur. Having decided not to outsource operation and Engineering I have undertaken a major transformation of the business which has led to a cost reduction of 70%. I have right sized the organization. Additionally we have almost finished upgrading the network. New technologies are being introduced to deliver quality service cost efficiently.

As CTO at Wataniya I was responsible for all IT and Network infrastructure. I ran a very lean organization; - with fewer than 200 people in the Technology division we served 1million customers with Mobile services as well as selected ISP services over fixed net connections. Billing systems as well as the network were fully converged at the end of my stay with Wataniya. I extended the network by 15% a year while maintaining the same level of operating costs for the network.

As CTO I assumed responsibility for merging all of the IT and Network organizations of the Telenor Mobile operations in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, Telenor Mobil Norway, Djuice Sweden and SONOFON Denmark. I merged the three organizations and reduced headcount from 780 to 510. After only 12 months I had reduced the total cost of the network operation by 30%.
