Counseling Psychology, which includes Community Counseling, School Counseling, and College Student Personnel Administration, is part of the Department of Graduate Psychology at James Madison University. Our department is in the College of Integrated Science and Technology (CISAT).
School Counseling Program: Accredited by the Counsel for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), this 60-credit-hour program enables graduates to become licensed school counselors in elementary, middle and secondary schools. Graduates enter the field with knowledge and competencies essential for providing successful and comprehensive developmental school counseling services.
The program leads to the Master of Education and Educational Specialist degrees. It meets the Virginia Licensure Regulations for school counselors.
