John Dupree's Summary

I have often said that the two abiding values of education were the ability to think critically and communicate well. Even so, I had no idea that these skills would become as essential to 21st century technology management as they have become. My own career is a history of managing large, complex organizations by challenging assumptions, evaluating the go-to-market components, building teams, and communicating a compelling shared vision of what the business could become.

Through the course of my 30 year career, that shared vision has, of necessity, taken many forms: from rapid sales growth in some companies to a simple struggle for survival in others. But through each circumstance my personal brand has grown: teams simply perform better when led by John Dupree.

My graduate degrees are not from classical business schools, but decades of executive experience have well trained me in the tools of management. I marry technological and organizational acumen to a humanities background that extols personal achievement. Capital structures change. The longevity of technology advantage can now be measured in weeks. What truly endures for a modern company is not its technology at any given moment; it is its people at every given moment. The ability to lead well and gain for the shareholders the compounded value of individuals working together across the enterprise is the successful manager’s greatest attribute and my proven strength.
