As a control systems engineer I worked on improving accuracy and operation speed of the positioning of a lithographic stage. Main tasks involved real-time feed-forward design and improving models and diagnostic tools.
Main complication in real-time feedfoward are the inherent processing time delays similar to those in feed-back systems. A proper choice of tuning will only act at performance critical frequencies with a minimum of disturbance amplification and enough safety margins to prevent cross-talk stability problems.

I designed different models and control strategies for a 4 wheel driven and 4 wheel steered autonomous guided vehicle during this internship related to my Master's Thesis. The main challenges are related to tyre, velocity and steering non-linearities. Controlling the force on each individual tire accurately is essential to solve the overactuated problem, create optimal vehicle-driver interaction, and to prevent uncontrolled slip.
MSc & BSc , Mechanical Engineering , 1999 — 2005
Graduated Cum Laude in the Control Systems Engineering research group within the Mechanical Engineering department. The Master's Thesis explains the dynamic modelling and controller design for a 4WD/4WS autonomous guided vehicle. Completed Master's courses are related to mechatonics, control, dynamics, precision mechanical design and optimization techniques.
