I currently am responsible for all partnerships and revenue for www.gaiaonline.com, the leading avatar based social gaming and social commmunity site, funded by Redpoint, Benchmark, Time Warner and Sony.
Prior to Gaia, I managed the business efforts for image and video search, along with Flickr. These businesses are the fastest growing businesses within Yahoo! Search
Prior to that I was VP, Sales at Tacit Software. I focused on building the team and revenues from the ground up, bringing in business with major pharmaceutical companies, financial services firms, government organizations and technology companies. In my first year, we nearly doubled revenues and dramatically increased the number of new customers.
Prior to this, I was the VP of Sales for 4 years at Virage. I left following the purchase of Virage by Autonomy Inc.
At Virage, I hired and ran a US wide sales team focusing on selling enterprise software and services solutions, and closed all of Virage's largest deals including a nearly $4 million deal with MLB. When I started at Virage, Sales revenue was well below $1 million. In addition, I have closed large enterprise deals in the 6 and 7 figure range with the likes of Pfizer, Xerox, Citibank, CSFB, Deutschebank, UBS, HP, Oracle, IBM, Morgan Stanley, Bear Sterns, AOL/TW, Viacom, CNET, Merck, numerous universities, etc.
While more than 85% of my time at Virage was focused on the business in the US, I also built Virage's Asia Pacific business from the ground up so that it was a profitable segment of the company.
I built the sales team at Virage, and closed the multi-million dollar deals that provided the launching pad for Virage to successfully go public in 2000.
I have spent my career focusing on running entrepreneurial sales organizations, with a focus on both direct sales and partner management. I combine a strong and thorough sales process practice with aggressive revenue growth and organizational management, and have been successful in dramatically growing revenues and the success of each company with which I have been associated.
