Most of my experiences have been in writing & editing and, for the last couple of years, in layout & design. I learn software quickly--in fact, I learned most of the Adobe suite over the course of a summer internship for my current position. I pick up specialty languages with similar ease. At home with AP and Chicago styles, as well as literary and academic/scholarly writing, I'm currently seeking a position as a technical writer, as a desktop publisher or as an entry level graphic designer. While I believe that I can complete any tasks thrown my way in any of these three occupations, I will flourish best (and be a greater asset) in an environment that values collaborative autonomy as much as it does initiative.

EOC operates in defense contracting research and development in lasers, sensors, fiber optics and materials, employing scientists in the field and engineers who oversee projects. As the EOC desktop publisher/graphic artist, I find communications solutions for all areas, for trade shows and industry meetings. Work includes print conception and design for media varying from brochures to full, wall-sized booths, photography to support such deliverables and input into marketing strategies/presentation.
BA , Communications, Journalism , 2006 — 2008
A returning adult student, I entered into a journalism option in communications at Penn State University. Course work emphasized deep research, high standards of clarity and conciseness in writing, journalistic integrity and personal ethical responsibility. This included a broadly overlaid understanding of statistics and the history of mass media, with particular attention paid to the film industry and the theory and criticism surrounding it.
