Jimmie Davis Jr’s Experience

  • Abstinence Educator

    Elizabeth's New Life Center

    (Non-Profit Organization Management industry)

    July 2009Present (5 months)

I am currently an In-school Presenter for ENLC in the Dayton Area. I am responsible for implementing our abstinence curriculum into middle schools and high schools in Montgomery and Warren counties. Our curriculum is designed to present an educational and motivational program that supplements the school's health curriculum.

  • Co-Founder

Christian Center for Youth and Family Health

    (Individual & Family Services industry)

    January 2008Present (1 year 11 months)

I am currently in the process of beginning a faith based non-profit organization that focuses on the total health needs of youth and families. Our organizations focuses on the health of the four dimensions of health: spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical. Listed below is our mission statement and our vision statement.
Mission: "With Christ at our center, the Christian Center for Youth and Family Health strives to serve those in need through programs that support and protect the health and dignity of the whole person. By identifying threats to our communities, we seek to educate and provide resources that empower youth and build stronger families."
Vision: "Understanding that true joy and peace come from knowing, loving, and serving the Lord; the CCYFH works to build: communities that invest in families, families that invest in marriage, and youth that invest in themselves."
My wife and I are currently developing and scheduling presentations for middle school and high school youth. These presentations are meant to inform and empower youth to uphold their dignity and value sex as a gift meant for marriage. If you would be interested in having us in your parish please contact me to schedule a presentation.

  • Resource Analyst

    American Cancer Society

    (Non-Profit; Non-Profit Organization Management industry)

    June 2008April 2009 (11 months)

I am currently conducting a gap analysis for the American Cancer Society's Ohio Division. My position is part of a grant that was obtained by the Ohio Patient Service Center Staff in order to determine the needs of constituent's in the state of Ohio. During this project I have lead the planning and development, as well leading the research behind the analysis.
This project has provided us with a great deal of knowledge in regards to the needs that the state of Ohio is facing (such as uninsured individuals, issues with medical transportation, and lack of adequate resources for patients).

  • Tobacco Prevention Coordinator

    The Breathing Association

    (Health, Wellness and Fitness industry)

    September 2007June 2008 (10 months)

I worked for about a year as the Tobacco Prevention Coordinator with the Breathing Association located in Columbus Ohio. My position was cut due to the elimination of the Ohio Tobacco Prevention Foundation (primary funder of smoking cessation and tobacco prevention programs in Ohio). With the Breathing Association I conducted tobacco prevention services for youth between grades Kindergarten through sixth grade. I collaborated with schools and other youth serving organizations to coordinate prevention presentations. I represented the Breathing Association at Health Fairs and other health information sessions. I also conducted evaluations of prevention services, and collected demographic data from all participants.
