Jim Curran is a seasoned executive with 30 years of US and international experience in general management, business planning and operations. He spent 21 years at IBM in various executive positions in development, marketing, finance and planning for the Personal Computer and software business units. He was recruited as the Executive Vice President of Information Systems and Products at VISA International, and to the position of General Manager of Worldwide Business Operations at Exodus Communications.
Jim was COO at Akeena Solar where he successfully negotiated manufacturing and International Licensing agreements with Suntech for supply of up to 14mW of solar panels. He also built and directed business processes and operations to improve costs and increase customer satisfaction. In August, 2008, Jim founded Shamrock Renewable Group, an outsourcing company for Engineering, Project Management, Installation of Solar and other renewable energy products.
In 1996, Mr. Curran founded Shamrock Partners, a management consulting firm specializing in business strategy, process management and operations. The firm successfully handled the sale of several of its clients to publicly traded companies. Shamrock Partners is the West Coast Trade Advisors to the Invest Northern Ireland government agency.
He holds a BA in Philosophy from Cathedral College Seminary in New York and the attended the IBM Executive management programs at Harvard University, University of Virginia Darden School and Pace University in New York.
