Jerry Hanifin is Counsel for Impor/Export Compliance at Sojitz Corporation of America, the U.S. subsidiary of a Japanese trading firm. As Counsel for Import/Export Compliance, Jerry manages the daily operations of the Import/Export Compliance Department for North and South American operations. Prior to joining Sojitz, he was a partner at the Customs and International Trade Law firm of Simon Gluck & Kane LLP, where he lead the firm’s litigation practice and was involved in all aspects of providing guidence to clients on their import and export activities. He clerked for the Honorable Nicholas Tsoucalas, Senior Judge of the United States Court of International Trade, worked for the Department of Commerce Office of Chief Counsel for Import Adminstration, and holds a license as a Customs Broker. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the New York City Bar Association. He is also a member of the United States Court of International Trade Advisory Committee.
