I'm passionate about blurring the line between "old" and "new" media–to the benefit of both. I possess old-school editorial skills, but use HTML/CSS and track web traffic on a daily basis. I'm a political news junkie with a never-ending Internet addiction and a fast-growing toolbox of web skills.
A versatile and experienced writer and editor, I've worked full-time for newspapers, magazines and websites, covering everything from Massachusetts school board meetings to soul concerts to Cambodian snake hunts. I'm "platform agnostic": comfortable writing and editing long-form articles, producing videos and shooting photos.
I also can speak (and sometimes code) the language(s) of web developers and programmers to oversee complex website projects (design/construction/redesign) and day-to-day management (traffic, servers, content managements systems).
My goal is to never stop learning about how the world works, and to never stop improving and expanding my journalistic skill set. And to never find myself without an Internet connection and my RSS reader.
Reporting/writing (political news, travel and music features), copy editing, editing (features and news), HTML/CSS, web project management, Apple/Mac OSX tech support, blogging (travel, architecture, politics).
