March 2013 - June 2013 College Invest - Developed a replacement database for the College Opportunity Fund using data vault architecture. Created a file loading process using C#.net which decrypts gpg files sent from Colleges, parsed and loaded the contents into the database. I created SSIS packages which extracted the legacy student records and loaded them into the new database.
Oct 2012 - Feb 2013 McGregor Company - Replaced a MS Access database which produced the Company Profit and Loss report. The MS Access database contained over 40K lines of VBA code and took over 8 hours to generated the report. The new P&L written in SSRS runs in under 30 seconds. I designed a Star Schema Data Mart that applied account mapping logic to store the different types of financial data from several Great Plains instances in an organized manner for easy reporting. I also created a SQL Server 2012 Tabular Model which contained all key calculations for reports including KPIs.
I successfully designed and implemented an enterprise data warehouse using Data Vault architecture, two data marts using Star Schema architecture, several SSIS file based data loaders, a manufacturing execution system (MES) and dozens of SSRS reports using SQL Server 2008 R2. I worked with the .NET team to create a custom BI web portal using Silverlight which allows users to search for a panels test history, material genealogy, tool exit events, tool alarms and measurement trends by querying the manufacturing data mart.
The MES data warehouse collected output 24x7 from the manufacturing lines using Rockwell Transaction Manager. It utilized Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Service Broker to handle high volumes of alarm data at peak times and SSIS packages were optimized to populate the Manufacturing Data Mart at 5 minute intervals. The architecture I designed and developed allows the engineering department to measure the effectiveness of the manufacturing line with no more than a 5 minute delay.
The Data Marts and OLAP cubes provided significantly faster response times, producing the manufacturing reports with a 97% reduction in wait time. We integrated manufacturing data and sales data in the data marts, allowing customers can go to a portal and run the “Flash” report connecting their sales orders to key manufacturing JV test measurements.
I designed and implemented a Star Schema field array data mart for the reliability and quality departments to report the performance of solar modules. I developed several SSRS reports which summarize module/string performance and helped engineers execute SQL from JMP (statistical analysis software) using the data mart as a source. I am currently working on enhancing our field OLAP cubes to summarize string power and correlate weather conditions and time on the array.
I was responsible for enhancements to QIS (Quality Information System) as delegated by our IT portfolio lead. Typical change requests required that I created technical design documentation, modified C#.NET code, created TSQL script changes to update the database and modifications to SSRS reports. During the three years I supported the quality system, I performed several major upgrades which allowed me to travel to Germany and Asia. I provided several training sessions to help engineers improve their TSQL skills so they could more effectively extract data out of the data warehouse.
When Verigy spun off from Agilent I was delegated the role IT Quality lead. My primary responsibilities were to recommend our infrastructure needs for SQL Server to EDS, to migrate the Agilent manufacturing data warehouse from Informix to SQL 2005 and move applications and databases from Agilent severs to Verigy servers.
After successfully creating a quality data solution for the 3070 I was promoted to the role of business process analyst at the ATG group level. I was tasked to expand the solution to run on five different Agilent productions lines at various locations around the world.
Product line specific feature enhancements allowed us to port the original QIS failure tracking module from ASP to ASP.NET using C#. We developed several offline data loaders using Perl. We created Cpk, First Time Turn on Rate, and Failure Pareto reports using SQL Server Reporting Services.
My primary role was to develop and maintain a database using SQL Server 7 and ASP (VB script) web pages to collect OEM Data. I generated DPPM (Defective Parts per Million) reports, AFR (Annualized Failure Rate) reports, and a monthly customer dashboard. I completed a Six Sigma “green belt” training course which allowed me to better understand the type of data analysis that was needed to improve product quality.
