Jason MIller’s Summary
Jason T. Miller is a Los Angeles native who got his start in music after purchasing a battery-operated electric guitar from Toys-R-Us while in the fourth grade. Fortunately, he had the support of his parents and the benefit of a 24-hour-a-day teacher; his father Bruce Miller is a successful multi-instrumentalist film and television composer and arranger who played an integral role in Jason’s musical development.
For years, Jason sharpened his skills on the guitar by taking lessons and playing along to all of his favorite records. He refused to join local bands because he was interested in playing more than just 3-chord punk-pop music. At 17, he was invited to join his high school science teacher’s blues band, performing at venues across Los Angeles. At 19, while attending UCLA, he got his first steady gig as a session musician playing the gritty guitar lines in the music for the CBS television comedy “Becker,” starring Ted Danson. In 2000, Jason would win the national “Jam With Kenny Wayne Shepherd” guitar competition. In 2002, he would be named one of five finalists in the 2002 “North American Rock Guitar Competition.” In addition to these accolades, he was also featured in such publications as Guitar Player, Blues Revue, Parade Magazine, and on Fender Guitars’ official website.
Throughout college, Jason built his list of credits by playing guitar on various television shows, motion pictures and records. He also began co-composing music with his father. After graduating from UCLA, Jason was hired as the composer for the 20th Century Fox television comedy “Quintuplets.”
Since then, Jason has scored a number of TV shows and has written and produced songs with artists ranging in styles from hip hop and rock to blues and country for many major record labels; recently writing & producing for Kanye West and Keyshia Cole.
Jason is currently scoring the FOX television comedy "'til Death" and writing with and producing various artists.
