He is Managing Director of Ark Bio Sdn Bhd, a biotechnology company developing improved genetic material for jatropha curcas, oil seed plants and organisms for the biofuel industry.
He currently oversees the Cosmo Biofuels Group which is involved in biodiesel feedstock production and processing in the Asia Pacific Region. He is also the Adviser/Strategist for the International Jatropha Organisation.
He is also a consultant in the MICE businesses and was representative for South East Asia for a global tourism e-commerce platform from 1999-2002.
He is also a Senior Associate with Digital Production Associates, a member of the Digital Industry Alliance. He was the Executive Director of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents in 1999 and before that from 1996, the Executive Director of the ASEAN Business Forum.
From 1989 to 1996, he was the Deputy Executive Director of the ASEAN Tourism Information Centre. He was Executive Director of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia from 1986-87 and concurrently Executive Director of the ASEAN Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
He was also Regional Director of SVP South East Asia Sdn Bhd and a Executive Director of Online Advanced Systems and Integrated Services Sdn Bhd from 1986-93 engaged in developing online databases.
From 1983 –1985 he was Head of Market Research in the Malaysian Overseas Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd and was Staff Writer on the Malaysian Business magazine from 1978 to 1983.
Mr Khoo Hock Aun graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Agribusiness) from Universiti Putra Malaysia, in 1978 and was a Nuffield Foundation Study Fellow in 1988 attached with the Science Policy Research Unit of the University of Sussex, UK.
