I am currently writing a fictionalized novel detailing my experiences as care giver for my mother, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease until her death in September, 2007 at age 93. The novel uses dream-based themes and the "unreliable narrator" approach in telling a story of a son who is caring for his "mother" while dealing with his own mental instability. It has dramatic and comedic scenes and falls into the science fiction genre.
As a former journalist during the late 1970s and early 1980s I use my background to set much of the action in that era in small town southern newspapers.
I want to publish my novel when completed, early 2009, and have a website where I keep my writing skills and interests sharpened.
I am people-oriented and good at interviewing and dealing with real estate problems in person. As the owner of my apartment complexes (11-units) I cover all manner of the business.
