I am trained in basic neuroscience with my thesis work on behavioral and systems neuroscience of the rodent brain. In spite of great success in exploiting this system genetically, I feel, there is little appreciation for its potential in bridging the gap between genetics and psychology and its ability to provide the first detailed understanding of "behavior" using the currency of neural activity and genetic makeup. This very ability offers the unprecedented advantage at both fronts i.e., basic and translational research toward the understanding of cognition and the so called anomalies of cognition. This is my research interest and dictates all my future goals.

Neural correlates, computation and behavioural impact of decision confidence.
Studied the role of time in olfactory perception and decision making by rats. I designed behavioral methods to understand how rats evaluate sensory, reward and timing variables in order to inform their decision on two alternative choices.
