Guy J. Cortesi, Ph.D., is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and one of the co-founders of eSolve Solutions, Inc. and is currently Manager of System Support/Information Systems for Bechtel, Inc. at Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. (BPMI) in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant Program. Over the past 30 years, he has held various engineering, leadership, and management positions at companies including IBM, Texas Instruments, Fairchild/Schlumberger, and Apple Computer/ADIA. He received a Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1977 from Clarkson University, and an M.B.A. in 1983 from East Tennessee State University, and a Ph.D. in 2001 from the University at Albany. Guy currently teaches at the University at Albany in the Graduate School of Computer and Information Science, where he has 10 years experience as an adjunct professor. His dissertation/research topic is the "Relation of Communication Channel and Task on Group Composition, Participation, and Performance in Virtual Organizations."
