Executive Director, CityLit Project
Washington D.C. Metro Area
Founded CityLit Project in 2004 after a career in book publishing (Johns Hopkins University Press, Cathedral Foundation Press, Woodholme House Publishers, and Tidewater Publishers). CityLit Project nurtures the culture of literature in Baltimore and throughout Maryland. CityLit seeks to increase public appreciation for quality literature and to enhance the ability of local and area writers to create literature and reach larger audiences. CityLit is building a community of readers and writers, and provides opportunities for the public to learn about, connect with, and celebrate the fundamental value of literature. I have served as an acquisitions editor, marketing and production manager, and publisher. Part of CityLit's mission is to publish original books under its CityLit Press imprint. Meanwhile, I teach book publishing courses at Loyola College, which dovetails with books published at Loyola's Apprentice House, the country's only campus-based, student-staffed book publisher.
