I am from Taranto, Italy. I received the "Laurea'' degree in Systems Engineering (Electronic Engineering + Computer Science) from the University of Pisa, with a master thesis on Robust Control of Underwater Vehicles developed at the Industrial Control Center, Strathclyde University, Glasgow, UK. I've been a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical System and Automation, Pisa University, and received the Ph.D. degree in Robotics and Automation in February 2000 with a thesis on Multivariable Robust Control developed in part at the School of Aerospace Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology , Atlanta, USA.
I have been a Research Assistant Professor at the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department, West Virginia University, USA, until 2008, where i have been doing research broadly related to aerospace control systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, and autonomous robotics. I have also developed the Mechatronics laboratory and taught the Mechantronics class from 2006 to 2008.
Since 2009 I am proudly working for The Mathworks as a Technical Evangelist.
