Profile: Gary Seitz joined the Philadelphia and Wilmington offices of Rawle & Henderson LLP as a partner in July of 2006. In 1988, Mr. Seitz obtained his masters degree in Admiralty from Tulane University while working full time with the maritime lawyers at Deutsch Kerrigan & Stiles in New Orleans.
He graduated with his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1986. In the course of obtaining his law degree Mr. Seitz studied at the Shanghai Law Research Institute in the Peoples Republic of China and the Betham House Faculty of Laws of the University of London.
Mr. Seitz has extensive experience in the handling of admiralty and maritime claims and litigation, marine financing and foreclosure and vessel arrests and attachments.
Mr. Seitz also has extensive experience in the handling of bankruptcy matters.
In 1999 he was appointed by the United States Trustee (U.S. Department of Justice) to the Panel of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He has also received appointments as Chapter 11 Trustee and Receiver.
