I am an electronics engineer by education and currently work as a project manager for ERTICO-ITS Europe which is based in Brussels Belgium. I hold the PRINCE2 Practitioner certificate in the PRINCE project management methodology.
I coordinate the European FP7 funded project i-Travel on behalf of the 19 strong consortium as well as being responsible for security aspects related to ITS systems, I chair the European Organisation for Security’s working group on surface traveller security as well as coordinate the ERTICO partner topic group on security.
I’ve a background in Navigation and telematics stretching back 17 years, starting out in the British Royal Air force where I trained as an Avionics Engineer working on autopilot systems, weapon aiming systems, RADAR, radio, and navigation systems.
It was my experience on navigation that enabled me to get a position with Jaguar cars Ltd where I was one of 2 design engineers that developed the first Jaguar S-type navigation system. Since Jaguar I have worked for Motorola on their telematic products for Jaguar, Vauxhall cars developing navigation systems and for Saab developing the 93 navigation and traffic information system.
In my spare time I'm a private pilot and pursue an interest in photography.
