Educated (BA) as Manager Graphics Industry I joined Holland's biggest newspaper in 1974, where I transferred to the IT department. Worked there (Dagblad De Telegraaf) for 8 years, before moving to an IT Service Company, Storkdata. In 1985 I moved again, to ACNielsen this time, where I worked for 20 years in many international positions. I held most existing IT jobs over the past 30 years. The last 15 years I was employed as International IT Director for Dun & Bradstreet, ACNielsen, and later VNU, tending to the IT needs of all European, Middle-East and African offices.
Travelled extensively during those years, running multiple, multi-language and multi-cultural project teams from the region and the US. Projects ranging from consolidating data centers from all over Europe, through implementing corporate e-mail systems and setting up, designing, implementing and maintaining software and hardware standards.
I was responsible for the major contracts with suppliers as Compaq, Toshiba, HP, Microsoft, Novadigm and many others. The last few years saw a tendency to the 'corporate purchasing' work, which was not my preference.
I was finally 'bought out' by ACNielsen in 2005 and started my own company, Silver Cloud Publishing.
Although the intention is to become a successful software publishing company (mainly geared towards Microsoft's Flight Simulator software add-ons and on-demand publishing), I am also still involved in helping companies with their IT management, drawing from my many years of experience in that field. Also involved in designing web sites for artisanal and other small entrepreneurs, with an emphasis on the 'individualism' and 'craftsmanship'.
I will do the occasional management and IT consultancy assignment, but will not return to an 'employee' position ;-)
IT Management Consultant, International IT Director, multi-language project management, broad international experience, multi-million $ IT contracts, marketing and publishing industry. Other interests are aviation, photography and writing.

March 2005 — Present (4 years 5 months)
Many activities: primary is software publishing, specialized in Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons.
Secondary is providing editorial and graphical services for publishers and developers. Running the simFlight.com news service, doing the PR for simMarket.com, and various PR contracts for smaller FS developers.
Thirdly making websites for small companies, providing photography, graphics designs, setting up communities and helping with other Internet activities. I also publish books, calendars etc. with my own photography.
As a result of 30 years in International management I still provide consultancy to some companies and individuals in the general and IT management field, and am a partner in ETMAssociates.
Last but not least I run a motorcycle Tour Company, providing customized riding tours in Europe for (very) small groups of (mainly) American riders visiting the continent.
