MaltaDOJO.com is the evelved name of the institution I founded in 1987 under the name of Muteki Karate Studio. Muteki was the name chosen by Sensei Shirai Hiroshi after my dan grading, in which I achieved the highest marks in the exam held in Italy. Muteki, he had explained, means, 'No enemy'. He explained further that with the attitude of karate, no enemy, and a thousand enemies are the same. this is possible through the confidence one builds in oneself and the tolerance towards others. MaltaDOJO.com today attempts to disseminate the effectiveness of the karate that was used for hundreds of years in Okinawa for just self protection. Sport karate has evolved for the modern world. Inevitably, many techniques that are effective in real-life situations had to be removed or modified for safety in competition. MaltaDOJO.com is not promoting sport karate, but Dento-Karate, or original karate.

Read for this degree as a distance learner at the age of 41 whilst still servicing my other commitments that included being Partner and Director of one of the top local mid-tier PSF in Malta, MGI Malta, being Chairman of the national governing body of sport, The Kunsill Malti ghall-Isport, being principal of one of the top institutions promoting classical Japanese karate, being national coach with the Traditional Karate Federation of Malta, and also sustaining the needs of my family. Whilst reading for this degree was tough, I cherished every moment of it and I must say that the faculty was very professional and focussed. This degree has changed my personal outlook of business, metamorphosing me from a post-mortem analyst (accountant and auditor) to a visionary business consultant.
