Erin Caldwell’s Summary

Erin Caldwell is an account supervisor with Edelman's digital public affairs team in Washington, DC, and primarily works with clients in the energy industry.

Erin specializes in helping clients build and leverage relationships with online influencers, as well as utilizing digital channels to drive awareness and advocacy. She has particular expertise in working with clients to successfully navigate and overcome a hostile conversation environment.

She contributed to the creation of Edelman’s “Crawl, Walk, Run, Fly” methodology and was the driving force behind the creation of the SocialCapital advocacy tool, which was first launched for Edelman’s client the American Petroleum Institute (API) in April 2009. (www.socialcapitalwidget.com)

Erin also spearheaded the development of the Edelman Digital 101 program, which is an intensive workshop designed to train PR and communications students in digital best practices, and to give educators the tools and lesson plans to help integrate digital components into their classes and overall communications curriculum. Erin was a recipient of the 2007 Charles E. Fremes Q Hero Award, which is annually given to five individuals across Edelman's global network "who through their professional and personal conduct set the standard for quality at the firm."

Previously, Erin worked with New Communications, LLC, and the Society of New Communications Research, both based in Palo Alto, CA, and helped produce the New Communications Forum in March of 2006. Through this, she acquired experience in dealing with new media, specifically tracking and analyzing online conversations.

Erin graduated cum laude from Auburn University in May 2006 with a degree in public relations and an emphasis in marketing. She currently serves on the university's PR Advisory Council, which helps guide and support the school's public relations program.
