As a member of the elite personnel that comprise the United States Naval submarine community, I operated and performed both preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide variety of communications devices. I was responsible for maintaining many technical publications and instructions of which many were classified as high as Top Secret. I was responsible for scheduling and ensuring preventive maintenance inspections were completed correctly and timely. My greatest responsibility was in the control and usage of cryptographic materials and equipment which allowed the transmission and reception of message traffic onboard the submarine of which many were classified.
