I manage and produce a community and entertainment based Web site called the217.com. I facilitate the creation and formatting of content from buzz Magazine and WPGU 107.1 FM.
I lead a team of two assistant producers and five interns, and work closely with the Editor in Chief of buzz Magazine, the Program Director of WPGU 107.1 FM and the sub-managers of both those units.
I plan content weekly through articles, video and audio; I oversee a staff of individual bloggers, and have been responsible for hiring and training new staff members on a continual basis. I maintain a consistent and professional tone throughout the site, and ensure that all our content is relevant to the community.
In October 2008, the217.com was awarded two national collegiate media awards: the Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker Award for an online publication, and the First Place Best of Show Award in the online category from the Associated Collegiate Press. I had the honor of accepting both awards. -
