November 2006 — Present (3 years 1 month)
Since February 2008 I have been a member of the writing team in the Communications and External Relations Office. I write articles for Focus, a biweekly research newsletter from the Harvard medical community.
Prior to my current role, I worked as communications manager for the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. HST is an interinstitutional collaboration between MIT and Harvard Medical School that brings engineers into the world of medicine, and physicians into the worlds of physical science and engineering. As the communications manager and sole member of the communications office, I managed publications and media relations.
As communications manager, I wrote over a dozen press releases and gave the HST website and academic catalog an overhaul that included rebranding, improved navigation and updated content. I also developed new fundraising and student recruiting materials for the division.
