Art Dealer and Director at DegreeArt.com and GlimpseOnline Ltd
London, United Kingdom
Having graduated with a BA in Art History at Goldsmiths College in July 2003, Elinor completed her MA in the same subject at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) the following year. She enjoyed the freedom that the MA course offered her to investigate her own specialised areas of interest. Her most challenging projects included building an online Living Archive for African women artist entitled NWALA (Nigerian Women Artists’ Living Archive) and, working towards a dissertation entitled ‘Contemporary Nigerian Female Artists: A Movement Emerging From Behind The Invisibility Screen’ which examined artists from Africa as well as the Diaspora. Studying at SOAS has allowed Elinor to explore her own heritage as well as research a previously neglected area.
Following graduation from her BA, along with her business partner Isobel Beauchamp, Elinor set up DegreeArt.com, an online gallery to showcase, promote and sell UK student and graduate art work. Since its inception, DegreeArt.com has established itself as the market leader in UK student and graduate art sales.
In 2008 Elinor co founded GlimpseOnline Ltd. an online marketplace selling original art, fashion and design.
www.DegreeArt.com, which was founded in 2003, is an innovative company selling and commissioning the finest artwork created by the students and recent graduates emerging from the most prestigious art education establishments.
