Edward Mendes’s Summary
I opened Edward Mendes Photography in the Summer of 2002 and have grown the business each year since. I provide clients with images that go beyond the standard portrait or wedding image and focus on images that create an emotional bond with the client and the eventual viewer, wheather they know the subject or not. Each image that leaves the studio is handcrafted to be a work of art that will be cherished by the client for a lifetime.
I'm more than just a wedding and portrait photographer however, as I spend equal time in the field creating Fine Art Landscape images. My images are represented by galleries across the state and are in many private individual and corporate collections.
I'm continually trying to evolve as a photographer, to be in the mix professionally with what's going on in the industry and I love meeting photographers of all skill levels and disciplines. Because of that I co-foundered and I'm the current editor of Whitespider.org, an online photography magazine and community. This has given me an opportunity to do more professional writing on photography, the creative process and the industry, while also allowing me to make many connections within the photography world with both photographers and companies.
Lastly, I also teach workshops though the Photographer's Gallery in Modesto, California. This allows me to interact with other photographers, talk photography, see their development and pass on my knowledge to others who what to learn. This free flow of knowledge is one of the greatest aspect of photography and one that must to kept alive in an ever-growing digital "look at me" world.
