Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Director of Medical Affairs, A native of Hawaii, his first professional career was as a mechanical engineer (B.S.M.E. Oregon State University, Pi Tau Sigma honors) designing U.S. Navy nuclear submarines and surface ships. Following his highly successful 14 year engineering career was a second career in the world of health. In 1982 he was awarded two Masters degrees (Nutrition and Health Education) and a Doctoral degree from Loma Linda University with honors (President’s Award) and elected to Delta Omega Honors. His professional career in health included director positions at Wildwood Lifestyle Center and Hospital in Georgia from 1982, Center of Health Education at Tokyo Adventist Hospital from 1983 to 2000, Lifestyle Medicine Specialist at Guam SDA Clinic Wellness Center and the Guam Hilton Resort & Spa, Manager of Wellness and Lifestyle Medicine at Castle Medical Center. His third career was 5 years in academics as Professor in the department of Health Promotion School of Public Health, Loma Linda University Preventive Care Program. Now in his fourth career, he brings a background of clinical specialties in health education, preventive care, nutrition, exercise science, health promotion, lifestyle medicine, mind-body medicine and research. He has published books on smoking cessation, nutrition, weight management, vegetarian nutrition. He is a Preventive Care Specialist, and Certified Health Education Specialist, and served as a member of several professional editorial boards: Japanese Journal of Public Health (Japanese Society of Public Health), Japanese Association for Cerebro-cardiovascular Disease Control, and Journal of Epidemiology (Japan Epidemiological Association). He is a past officer in the American College of Lifestyle Medicine; reviewer for Acta Pediatrica; past Vice President Asian American Community Center; and is listed in Who’s Who in the World in 1995.
