I am a multi-award winning director -writer of numerous documentaries filmed across America and particularly in international locations. Have made films in the war zones of Afghanistan and Iraq, recently explored the plight of Iraqi Refugees in Syria and Jordan, the Christian-Muslim conflicts of Nigeria, and the rise of a shadow Taliban inside NW Pakistan. As a one man band I've slipped into Burma to follow Doctors without Borders, and travelled with Nicholaus Kristof, sending stories back the NYTimes.
In addition, I've done science (NYTimes TV, Discovery and Nat Geo), medical series (the groundbreaking Trauma: Life in the ER), cultural programs on Art and recently completed the projections and documentation of an Opera based on the words of Emily Dickinson.
My in depth introduction to South Asia was heading an innovation interactive video project for more than a year in India.
Outlets for shows I've directed-written include Discovery, ABC-Nightline, CBS, Ch4 UK, BBC2, NatGeo, NYTimes, etc.
Was embedded for 2 months in Iraq for the PBS film "Warriors" where my vehicle was hit by IED and then ambushed - captured in my filming.
What links these many stories and what I most enjoy most is going into difficult places, where events are unfolding but above all telling stories through bringing out the human side of those situations.
