    Summary
Rafferty is a Licensed Additions Counselor. She earned her Masters of Transpersonal Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Wilderness Therapy from Naropa University in 2008. She is a Certified Gestalt Therapist, having completed intensive training at the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies. She has also completed a year-long certification program in Nutritional Counseling with the Alliance for Addiction Solutions. She is dually certified (substance abuse and mental health) in Nutritional Therapy in order to treat mental health and addictions using nutrition counseling and amino acid therapy protocols. Rafferty's interest in nutrition was sparked by years of seeing frustrated clients searching for the "right medicine" to bring balance to their changing lives. Her personal exploration with food, as well as her professional expertise in addictions and mental health, led her to pursue certification in order to integrate "food as medicine" into her practice. Rafferty believes that nutrition counseling with an amino acid protocol is THE vital key to creating a holistic addiction recovery model. Rafferty has nearly two decades of experience working with adolescents and adults, facilitating therapeutic experiences for clients in the office, as well as the wilderness. She has used horses, rock climbing and backpacking to help clients learn more about themselves in relationship to themselves, others and the natural world. Rafferty has five years experience providing addictions counseling and CBT to men and adolescents involved in the criminal justice system. She strives to bring a connection to nature into her work while supporting clients' realizations of their whole selves. Rafferty often provides therapy with the help of her Therapy Assistance dog, Django.
