Matthias Vandermaesen’s Summary

I am currently (as of september 2007) employed as a consultant ICT in a documentmanagement project within the city administration of Antwerp. I provide some technical support and advise to the project's team and give feedback from several ICT related workgroups and committees.

Before that, I was active in a 3-year subsidized researchproject (http://www.cdavid.be) that focussed on digitization and digital dissemination of audiovisual heritage. My activities were twofold: research and providing a platform for heritagekeepers with questions concerning digital conservation of audiovisual holdings. This project was attached to the city archives of Antwerp.

My main interests lie in digital media and new technology. I am an avid blogger and user of social networking tools. I also pursue my own projects in which I'm trying to implement the possibilities of current on line tools in novel ways. Handling and making large amounts of information accessible (interoperability between systems) in efficiënt and costeffective ways is one of my interests.
