Didier Cossin is Professor of Finance and Governance at IMD. He holds the UBS Chair in Banking and Finance.
Professor Cossin’s areas of interest are risks and opportunities at executive committee or board level and the role of the board in achieving success. He notably looks into the risks in boards or executive committees, notably risks arising from psychology, strategy and/or governance structure. He is also working on the selection and completion of financial and non-financial investments, and the application of advanced techniques, for assessing investments, structuring mergers and acquisitions for value creation, project financing, hi-tech valuation, and structuring joint ventures. Finally, Prof. Cossin’s work has also focused on the role of banks and investment banks and the value they create for their clients.
Professor Didier Cossin is an advisor or executive teacher with the United Nations, central banks of several countries, the boards or executive committees of corporations, financial institutions and funds in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He is currently a member of the American Finance Association, the Financial Management Association, the Eastern Finance Association, and the European Finance Association.
Professor Didier Cossin holds a PhD from Harvard University (Robert C. Merton Chair) and is a former Fulbright Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Department of Economics (USA). He is a former student of ENS rue d'Ulm (France) and holds master degrees from Sorbonne University and EHESS (France).
Professor Cossin is member of the board of Merrill Lynch Derivative Products and member of the academic board of Fitch Investors.
