Building the content on Australian-Shares.com has seen me write on over 1000 ASX listed companies and provided me with an intimate understanding of the ASX. I constantly stay up to date with fundamental trends by looking at daily ASX announcements as well as news for inclusion in the website as well as in my own investment decisions.
I actively trade the stockmarket on a medium term basis and am now starting to explore new strategies for shorter term trading. I primarily use technical analysis however as mentioned above, I do take into consideration fundamentals at times. I have ventured out into forex and also automated trading strategies.
My goal in life is to start my own hedge fund in time as I believe there is room in Australia for a reputable hedge fund to make its mark and also because I love this game (the financial markets). In addition, I would love to get involved in property and venture capitalism as time goes on.

Conduct thorough research into over half of ASX listed companies in various sectors including the health care, IT, Materials and the oil & gas sector. This has entailed reading, assessing and interpreting annual reports, quarterly statements and web sites in order to gather, collate and extrapolate information for inclusion in the database to be accessed online by investors
Read a wide range of journals, newspapers and reports in order to keep up to date with current trends in the financial market and incorporate relevant information in the news section of Australian-Shares.com

The Inside Trader is owned and managed by Keith Nielson, the author of “Follow the Smart Money” and developer of the “Smart Money Indicator”. I approached Keith for voluntary work experience, and my offer was taken up. During the Summer vacation I worked approximately three days a week at the office in Milton to undertake what we believe to be first and most comprehensive research into director buying and subsequent price performance on the Australian Stock Exchange.
I conducted quantitative research to investigate patterns in the raw data relating to director buying and subsequent price performance in order to uncover patterns and anomalies – research involved investigating parcel size, multiple transactions by the same director, market capitalisation and the ratio between parcel size and market capitalisation.
