Project Manager at U.S. Government General Services Administration (GSA)
Washington D.C. Metro Area
I am currently doing commercial tenant build-outs for federal government agencies in Washington, DC.
Previously with Toll Brothers;
I developed several communities within Belmont Country Club (www.belmontcountryclub.com) totaling over 400 homes with more than 1,642,760 SF of livable space. Everything from $400,000 to $2,300,000 homes. I was responsible for all aspects of the construction process. I actively managed several dozen subcontractors and employees.
I was responsible for establishing and maintaining budgets that are in the tens of millions of dollars. I have actively managed 7 direct employees and I have experience interviewing, hiring, & terminating employees and subcontractors.
My career goals are to increase my areas of responsiblity and position in managment.
Having built homes myself I understand the process of and the how-to's of building. This enables me to better manage the construction process and be thorough in contracting the job. I have a firm understanding of profit and loss statements and how to manage a project successfully. I understand the importance of good record keeping and time management.
I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

February 2009 — Present (10 months)
I work with government agencies via the GSA as a project manager to manage their construction projects. For example: FEMA needs a renovation on an existing building - I take the project from lease and contract with a GC to completion.
I work closely with the landlord and the government agency to ensure that costs and time lines are fair and prudent to help protect and conserve tax payers money.

Responsible for taking raw land and developing it into a master planned community. I am directly responsible to manage all aspects of the process from dirt moving, contracting the job, marketing & sales, building the homes, and warranty. If it needs to be done - it is my job to make sure it gets done.
(Privately Held; 201-500 employees; Construction industry)
2002 — 2002 (less than a year)
Worked with another project engineer to manage the contract of moving an existing bridge and building a new 80' bridge as well as laying 44 miles of new asphalt on the Elliott Highway North of Fairbanks.
We constructed our own portable rock crushing station, an on-site asphalt mixing plant so that we could have and do everything on site and we worked closely with Deptartment of Transportation to get all of the inspections and reports necessary to collect draws in a timely manner.
This was the longest road that any company had rehabilitated in a single building season in Alaska.
