August 2008 — Present (1 year 4 months)
At Loud3r, I am primarily responsible for designing, testing, and implementing a server topology across Amazon's Elastic Computing Cloud (EC2). I have developed a Python script which handles re-instantiating of failed servers, load balancing capabilities, and simple spawning/destroying of our custom instances. My other duties involve general maintenance of the code infrastructure, optimizing old scripts (rewriting php as python), and developing new data mining tools.

I provide programming support to Dr. Hugh Nymeyer for his research in Computational Biophysics.

2006 — 2008 (2 years )
My duties at the Florida Geological Survey ranged from providing the staff with data manipulation support to designing and implementing a large scale database. I was the sole programmer/database person and wore many hats while employed here. A typical work day might include importing new data into the database, tweaking the VBA I developed to interface with the data, and using Python to manipulate a data file for one of the staff scientists. It was a demanding job which helped me learn how to balance many different tasks that ranged across a wide breath of my skills.

August 2004 — April 2007 (2 years 9 months)
I worked for a research entity within Florida State University's Institute of Science and Public Affairs called the Florida Resource and Environmental Analysis Center (FREAC for short). My duties here began with simple website and server maintenance, and developed into a programming job before long.
I worked along side two other developers creating a custom interactive web interface to serve aerial photography and other imagery. The application developed into a rich data-driven interactive web map which was used in many deliverables to government agencies and NGOs.
