I started off as a board artist/illustrator (many moons ago) in the days of rapidographs (technical pens) and learned the complete process of printing via doing each job i.e. process camera, negative 4 color stripping, plate to press with thanks to my mentor Dave Dapkus, receiving an INC 500 with ZBR Publications.
As the the Macintosh snuck into the desktop publishing area, treating it like a new tool (not the answer), I served as a conduit for combining traditional and electronic methods to resolve their issues.
Fast-forward several years. There have been several technical jobs I have walked into because of my graphic artist background and became a technical expert on. The Air Force place me as an IT professional, where I expanded my knowledge on PC/Mac administration but also more importantly, served as artist involved with several successful funding briefings exceeding $2 Billion dollars for Joint STARS, International AWACS, and multiple NATO radar system programs awarded from the Defense Acquisition Board.
At the Polaroid Corporation, served as a Digital Application Specialist in hardware and software for continental U.S. and Canada. Field Test Engineer for digital print kiosks combining high speed web print system with multiple OS interfaces, Color Science, SuSE Unix, Win 2K.
Multifaceted in web design and maintenance with several companies or higher education playing a duel role as collateral print designer for Montserrat College of Art, Graphx Incorporated, The Massachusetts Chiropractic Society, and Lahey Clinic.
Working with people and making them comfortable with technology is a passion as well as being an evangelist for new technology. As a applications trainer/ presenter for Apple Computer and The Polaroid Corporation, I have worked several trade shows and enjoy public speaking. Combining visual communication skills allows me to find way to help people learn new products or technology and how it benefits them.
