David Bartlett is one of the most highly regarded and widely recognized communications strategists and crisis management experts the country. He is the author of Making Your Point (St. Martin’s Press 2008), a practical guide to communication strategy and tactics.
Major corporations, trade associations, non-profits, and multinationals trust Mr. Bartlett with their most sensitive high stakes communications assignments. He has helped a wide range of clients communicate effectively with critical stakeholder groups, working with the senior leadership of companies in technology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, automotive, consumer products, utilities, energy, chemicals, defense, food processing, biotechnology, insurance, financial services, and many other industries in the United States and overseas.
Mr. Bartlett served as President of the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA), the international professional association of electronic journalists. He was RTNDA’s principal spokesman and public affairs strategist, representing the organization and the industry in press interviews, congressional testimony, public speaking engagements, and numerous local and network broadcast appearances.
Mr. Bartlett’s career also includes senior management positions with major media outlets, including NBC Radio, Metromedia Television News, Post-Newsweek Stations, the Voice of America, and the WorldSpace direct broadcast satellite system.
He began his career as a reporter for the Hartford Courant covering crime and the courts and has produced television documentaries for NBC, PBS, and Turner Broadcasting. He has written for the Media Institute, the Aspen Institute, the Media Studies Center, the International Press Institute, the American Journalism Review, Broadcasting & Cable Magazine, and the Federal Communications Law Journal.
