    Convergent Science Inc

    (Automotive industry)

    February 2008Present (1 year 6 months)

Convergent Science Inc. (CSI) specializes in the field of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). CSI has developed the CONVERGE code to make Navier Stokes CFD analysis fast and accurate.

With CONVERGE, a high quality mesh is generated automatically at runtime, thus eliminating all user meshing time (even for moving body applications). This translates into huge cost savings for CONVERGE users:

    1) Eliminates all engineering costs associated with meshing
    2) Eliminates all fees associated with meshing software

With the meshing bottleneck completely eliminated, what took days or weeks with traditional CFD tools now takes hours or minutes with CONVERGE.

There are many accuracy benefits of CONVERGE as well, including using a stationary and orthogonal mesh in the interior of the domain where the grid density automatically varies to resolve gradients using adaptive mesh refinement (AMR). With CONVERGE, obtaining grid independent results has never been easier and faster.

CONVERGE is loaded with advanced physical models for phenomena such as turbulence, spray and combustion.

Historically, CSI has focused on internal combustion engine design and analysis. However, we are constantly extending our technology into new application areas including Aerospace, gas turbines, external aerodynamics and much more. The benefits of CONVERGE extend to almost any application.

  • Senior Account Manager

    ANSYS Inc

(Public Company; 501-1000 employees; Aviation & Aerospace industry)

    January 2002March 2008 (6 years 3 months)

Manage multiple and diverse Aerospace and Department of Defense accounts. The main objective of this position is to efficiently and effectively meet client computational fluid dynamics/simulation needs including training, consulting and software. This involves meeting with engineers and upper level management, presenting solutions to identified needs, and negotiating contracts. Performance targets relate to the retention and growth of existing customers and identification and expansion to new customers.

  • Consulting Engineer

    Fluent Inc

(Public Company; 501-1000 employees; Aviation & Aerospace industry)

    December 1999January 2002 (2 years 2 months)

Responsible for assisting clients in the use of Fluent CFD software to design and analyze Aerospace and Marine thermal/fluid systems. Specialized in the simulation of the two phase turbulent reacting flows found within propulsion systems such as gas turbine engines. Assisted development team in the incorporation of advanced spray and combustion models applicable to internal combustion engines. Responsible for training customers in both fundamentals and advanced topics in computational fluid dynamics (turbulence, multiphase flows, user defined subroutines).

  • Engineer

    Honeywell Inc

(Public Company; 1001-5000 employees; Renewables & Environment industry)

    June 1994June 1996 (2 years 1 month)

Engineered energy and controls retrofits for commercial buildings and power plants. In charge of overseeing the complete process from the design layout stage to installation. Responsibilities included designing the system layout, selecting equipment, and generating system software.
