In charge of A section production and wire report, supervising 10 copy editors and page designers. Duties include budgeting news hole, hiring, training and scheduling as well as slotting the local and wire reports and designing A1. Special projects included creating new copy-flow procedures during the newsroom's transition from SII to Quark Publishing System file management. In 2002, began writing "Digital Slob," a humorous technology column now distributed by Universal Press Syndicate.

As a senior newsroom manager, led a staff of 10 copy editors and page designers in the design and editing of all editorial content on a universal desk, guiding news coverage with other team leaders. Solved conflicts and copy-flow bugs during a transition to full ad pagination on a Quark-based system. Wrote columns for the newspaper's weekly Neighbors section. Previously served as a page designer, slotting and copy editing all sections for the Scripps Howard daily in Bremerton, Wash., chosen by the Society for Newspaper Design as one of the top 16 designed newspapers in the world in 1996, and winner of 13 regional SPJ awards in 1997.
