Chuck Norman, APR is Executive Vice President of S&A Cherokee. Delivering intelligent communications, S&A Cherokee is a full-service communications company providing public relations, advertising, marketing, event planning, web design, digital marketing, social media and custom print and electronic publishing services. Originally founded as Smith & Associates in 1982, the company is based in Cary, N.C. In addition to its consulting and event planning service, S&A Cherokee publishes national and regional magazines such as Auto Remarketing, SubPrime Auto Finance News, Cary Magazine, and Triangle East Magazine, as well as customized client publications such as Farm Bureau Magazine, NC Magazine, Heart to Heart, the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Visitors Guide and a variety of chamber magazines and directories. The company has approximately 45 employees.
Norman’s background includes wide-ranging experience in public relations, marketing, event management, branding, advertising and publishing. In addition, he has been directly involved with development and infrastructure planning for the Town of Cary through a number of Intercity Visit projects across the United States and Canada. Prior to joining S&A Cherokee Norman was most recently the VP of communications and governmental relations with the Cary Chamber of Commerce.
Norman is an accredited member of PRSA and has held leadership roles with the NCPRSA and RPRS. Currently president elect for PRSA’s North Carolina Chapter, Norman was also named to PRSA’s Counselors Academy in 2008 and received the Business Journal’s 40 under 40 Leadership Award in 2009. He also holds several board positions outside of the communications filed. Norman earned his B.A. in communication with a concentration in Public Relations from North Carolina State University. He later completed the Organizational Management Institute at the College of Charleston. Cary MacGregor Rotary named him Rotarian of the Year in 2009.
