Professional producer and director of theater (new works, Shakespeare, classics, musicals) in New York since 1986.
Founded and been working on and with Gorilla Repertory Theater since 1992.
Newly fledged opera director after much study, with a fully staged excerpt from "Cymbeline" by Christopher Berg performed and three operas booked with Opera in the Heights in Houston, TX as Resident Theatrical Director 2009-2010 Season.
Adjunct teaching work in universities including Princeton and Yale after years of lecture/demos and guest lectures, which I still do - most recently in Tennessee!
I'm interested in working for a university in the theater department and continuing my professional development by directing for other companies and finding partnerships with my company.
Someday, someone is going to take a chance on me to direct a feature film, and we'll both be very happy about that.

Routledge publishes my book, "Gorilla Theatre" which is meant to be a guide to doing the kind of theatre that my company is known for. The book has received great reviews in American Theater magazine and Theater Topics.
