Conducted independent research on geolocation and wrote software that analyzed the VCU School of Engineering webserver log files by cross referencing remote client IP addresses to various publicly-available geolocation databases.
Presented research findings and project infrastructure to faculty and staff. Information was well received and software produced was easily reusable in the future.
Also wrote research papers on the Open Source movement, and related principles. Presented two papers to Directed Research classes and the VCU student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery. Research focused on philosophical perspectives on software development methodology and SCM (particularly CVS).
