I lead two major projects. The first was on water quality monitoring for cholera in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. The second in developing a water quality information system based on a laboratory information system which calculated water quality indexes which were displayed spatially.

I increased income from R850 000 per annum to R1.4 million over two and a half years.

I managed a small water quality laboratory, sampling staff and inspectorate to produce water quality information and an intervention advisory service.

I project managed an environmental impact assessment for the construction of a drinking water dam in North West.

Particular water quality challenges were nitrate and fluoride contamination of drinking water sources.

I drafted legislation focussed on water quality and developed a modest laboratory information system.

I convened environmental conferences and hosted the Minister of Water Affaris - Kader Asmal.
