I worked as a market data specialist for GS Strategies, a derivatives modeling, structuring and pricing organization that supports GS sales and trading. I was a member of this group for ten years: 7 years in New York and 3 in Tokyo. The data team I worked with maintained a global historical federated data repository containing equity, fixed income, currency and commodity characteristic data as well as end of day and real time pricing information. The global size of the data repository is of the order of decades of terabytes currently, and it uses storage media such as file systems, Sybase database servers and GS proprietary object database servers.
High Energy Physics 1982 - 1998
After obtaining my Ph.D. in elementary particle physics, I worked on several high energy physics experiments, and then as a research scientist at two National Laboratories.
I first worked for Syracuse University at the CLEO collaboration based at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York (1983-1985) and then In Japan at the KEK Laboratory in Tsukuba, Japan for Rutgers and Ohio State Universities (1985-1989). Subsequently I became a research scientist at the Superconducting Super-Collider Laboratory, Dallas, Texas (1989 - 1993), and then at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Long Island, New York (1994-1998).

Integrated Controls Systems Department is responsible for developing the control systems for the Linac, Target, Instrument support and conventional facilities for the European Spallation Source (ESS AB) to be constructed in Lund, Sweden. We are currently preparing the design for the control systems which will use the EPICS framework for the hardware/device support layer. In addition prototypes for the Control Box, the 'control system in a box', are being developed to support vertical integration of sub-systems early in the construction phase of the project. First experiments with neutrons are projected to begin in 2019.
