I principally work with and alongside urban planners, architects, utilities and transport infrastructure technical specialists and project managers, providing advice and support relating to sustainability. I promote the adoption of best practice with regards to sustainability, and encourage the integration of sustainble considerations within designs, plans and policies. In Abu Dhabi, I work as part of a small team responsible for Strategic Environmental Assessments of Masterplans and the implementation of Estidama - the ratings method implemented in Abu Dhabi. I am a certified assessor for this ratings method (Pearl Qualified Professional) and was responsible for producing the first Pearl Credit Design Rating submission completed within Atkins. I have also provided 'critical friend' advice and sustainability elements for inclusion within masterplans produced by Atkins.

In the UK, the majority of my work is concerned with the undertaking of Sustainability Appraisals, Strategic Environmental Assessments and producing Sustainability Statements for statutory plans regarding land use, minerals and waste, transport and water resources. I have also contributed to a number of Sustainability Statements to accompany planning applications for specific projects.
