Reservoir Engineer at Perenco
Congo
After two years of experience in Wireline field operations (performing wireline logging operations), I decided to move on from a service company to an operating company. I'm just starting my new life as Reservoir Engineer at Perenco in Congo.
From my field time, I gain experience running several logging tools. On top of the log quality control, I'm able to perform basic qualitative interpretation on logs from bellow services:
- Resistivity (Induction, Laterolog)
- Nuclear: Platform Express, Triple combo
- Sonic: DSI
- Imaging: FMI, OBMI
- Formation testing and sampling: MDT
- Sidewall Coring: MSCT
- Borehole seismic

Schneider Electric is the world’s power and control specialist.Within its site of Saint-Denis (Paris area), in the Advanced Controls department, I was in charged of developping a library of regulators for Schneider automats. The regulators were to be developed according to the principle of the internal model (IMC).
The main tasks of my internship were:
- Development of a regulator for the integrator systems based on the strategy of the internal model.
- Update of the internal model regulators library (IMC) and predictive régulators library (PCR)
- Programming of the Schneider automats (Telemecanique, Modicon) with the platform of development Unity Pro
- Update of a software of data acquisition from automats (DataStore)

The project entrusted to my group relates to the control device of a throttle control joystick, controlled electrically. In automatic mode of piloting, the movements of the joystick must be controlled to the orders from the calculator (autopilot). In manual mode, the joystick is actuated by the pilot, it must reproduce the effort between the wing and the joystick so that the pilot has the same feelings as with a joystick.
Work to be realized concerns:
- engine supply
- the electronics of conditioning of the signals
- the study of the engine controls (modeling, simulation)
- its establishment on system microprocessor.
