Due to my varied experience in the work force, one asset I bring to the table is problem solving skills and the ability to understand situations from many perspectives.
My professional goals are focused on utilizing my skills and experience in a positive work environment that contributes to a healthier and happier way of life.
Specialties: Social enterprise (for- and non-profit hybrid) business model; marketing; design (print and web); event planning; media relations; health supportive, plant-based cooking.
Carolyn Hannan's Experience
Marketing And Events Manager
October 2013 – Present (7 months) louisville, kentucky area
I oversee the marketing efforts of a family-owned and operated 5 store natural food markets chain. My duties range from website and app management to social media to ad campaign design to event planning, scheduling and promotion.
Owner & Chief Consultant
Bourbon & Beans
June 2009 – December 2013 (4 years 7 months) lexington, kentucky
Bourbon & Beans is a sassy and savvy marketing collaborative with headquarters in Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky; however, we are awesome enough to work with clients thousands of miles away (South America, Chicago, Maryland, etc). We specialize in small businesses with a "green" or social mission and work primarily with entrepreneurs and small businesses. We find that this niche has an incredible amount of passion and we help business owners strategize about and promote their craft.
Our areas of expertise and passion are print and web design, press and media relations, social media and overall marketing strategy.
Owner & Chef Instructor
The Wholesome Chef
January 2011 – April 2013 (2 years 4 months) lexington, kentucky
I received formal culinary training in 2005 from the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in New York City and now specialize in vegan and vegetarian cuisine as a food educator.
After culinary school, I worked as a cook at New York’s renowned vegan restaurant, Candle Cafe, and then as a personal chef to Manhattan and Brooklyn clients. I also completed a Bachelor of Science from The New School and have begun work on my Master's in Business Administration.
Now back in my home state of Kentucky, my full-time job is Owner & Chief Consultant at Bourbon & Beans. However, The Wholesome Chef is my outlet in which to share my passion for fresh, simple and delicious foods. It is my goal to help you with the "how"; you know you need to eat better, but believe myths that it's expensive and time consuming. That's where I come in...guiding you in learning about and trying new foods in a fun, comfortable environment.
I offer a few public classes each month and present regularly for business wellness programs. Please call or email me to book a date for the following: Knife Skills; Vegan & Vegetarian Basics; Fish; Juicing & Smoothies; Kitchen Farmacy; Macrobiotic Diet; and Ayurvedic Cooking.
