Firm Information:
Pence Consulting was established in 1992 as a full-service, consulting firm supporting nonprofit organizations. Services include direct consultative guidance, training programs, and sponsorship of national training seminars. Pence Consulting specializes in Annual, Endowment and Capital Campaigns. Since the firm’s inception over 100 nonprofit organizations have used the services provided.
Since 1993 Pence Consulting has contracted with Indiana University Center on Philanthropy, the Fund Raising School to sponsor their courses in Michigan. The firm has offered over 80 courses in Michigan and educated over 700 individuals. The Fund Raising School has a Certificate in Fund Raising Management Certificate and out of the 850 people taking the courses, 75 people in Michigan have completed their Certificate in Fund Raising Management in Michigan. In 2000, Pence joined the Fund Raising School faculty and teaches the following courses throughout the country: Principles and Techniques of Fundraising (5 day course); Developing Leadership for Major Gifts (3 day course); Fundraising for Small Nonprofits (3 day course); and Interpersonal Communications for Fundraising (2 day course).
In 2002, Pence became a Certified DiSC trainer and completed the required courses to assist both the non-profit and for-profit sectors with effective ways to use this behavior instrument.
Fees are based on long-term contractual rates, daily, half-day and hourly rates. Pence Consulting complies with the strict ethical standards set forth by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and never works on a commission.
