Carl Grant’s Summary
I’m a librarian who has worked in libraries, or companies automating libraries, for over 30 years (since I was 16). I worked at St. Louis County Library ending my tenure there as an Assistant to the Director. I then joined the ILS vendor, Data Research Associates, Inc. (DRA) where I worked for 14 years in a variety of roles, last as the Vice President of International Business. I then moved to Innovative Interfaces as their Vice President of Sales and Marketing and later joined Ameritech Library Services where I was Vice President of Marketing, Product Management and International Business. I joined Ex Libris (USA) as President in December of 1998. In a period of four years I helped lead a number of initiatives that led to Ex Libris becoming a leading vendor of ILS academic systems in North America. In April 2003 I joined VTLS as President and COO. In 2007, I co-founded a company named CARE Affiliates, Inc.. This company specialized in open source software and provides consulting, selection, implementation, maintenance, support and development services around selected open source solutions. In July 2008, I returned to Ex Libris North America as the President.
